Evolution, Science or Religion?
In the previous articles we have discussed the theory of evolution and saw that it had no scientific basis. It certainly has no Biblical basis. In fact, we have noted that it violates all the known laws of science and contradicts the Scriptures especially Romans 5:12 "Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:"
We have seen that the theory of evolution does not tell us how all things began; it starts with matter already existing and therefore explains nothing. If there was a cosmic egg of hydrogen gas that exploded causing the "Hot Big Bang", where did it come from? Even if the Big Bang theory were correct, it tells us nothing about the very beginning.
Special Creation by an omnipotent God, goes back to the very beginning of the universe to a time when He called all things into being. He pre-existed His Creation. This view coincides with the basic law of Cause and Effect (all effects have a greater preceding cause).
Remember, the Hebrew national name for God is Jehovah, which means "The Self-Existent, or eternal One." He is the only one that fits that description.
The fossil record in the rocks was supposed to be the final conclusive proof for evolution according to Darwin. But after one hundred and forty six years, not a single transitional fossil has been found. All we find in the fossil record is created kinds appearing abruptly without any intermediate forms. Many missing links have been claimed by our evolutionists friends, but all have been exposed as false, and some were actually deliberate frauds. I have every confidence this will continue to be the case.
We have also seen that life, no matter how "simple" is far too complex to have evolved by random chance, ( one chance in 1040,000). We have also noted, that in order for something to be considered mathematically impossible is one chance in 1050.
If there is no evidence that evolution occurred in the past, is not happening in the present, and is mathematically impossible for it to have ever happened, why is it so universally accepted? Duane Gish asks the question; "How many nails do you have to drive in the coffin of evolution before it is pronounced dead?
Why does the "scientific" community still proclaim it as an absolute fact, and go ballistic any time Special Creation is presented as an alternative? The answer is found in Second Peter 3: 3-5;
3. knowing this first: that scoffers will come in the last days, walking according to their own lusts,4. and saying, "Where is the promise of His coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of creation."
5. For this they willfully forget: that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of water and in the water,
This prophecy is being fulfilled as we live to today. The primary dogma of evolutionism is the teaching of uniformitarianism. By this doctrine, they assert that all the processes we see in operation today are the same as they were in the past. They further assert that they have been moving at approximately the same rate since the beginning, "the present is the key to the past."
The key to this passage of Scripture is found in verse five; 5. For this they willfully forget: that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of water and in the water,. The denial of God and the acceptance of atheistic evolution, is a willful act. It is not a logical conclusion based on facts, but a denial of the evidence showing that the entire universe is a designed and created article. This fact of willful ignorance is borne out in a statement by Isaac Asimov, a prolific evolutionist writer and apologist;
I am an atheist, out and out. It took me a long time to say it. Iíve been an atheist for years and years, but somehow I felt it was intellectually unrespectable to say one was an atheist, because it assumed knowledge that one didnít have. Somehow it was better to say one was a humanist or an agnostic. I finally decided that Iím a creature of emotion as well as of reason. Emotionally I am an atheist. I donít have the evidence to prove that God doesnít exist, but I so strongly suspect he doesnít that I donít want to waste my time. (The Biblical Basis For Modern Science; By Henry Morris, Page 106)
You see, this famous evolutionist made a willful choice not to believe in God. He said he cannot prove that God doesnít exist but he chose not to believe in Him. Asimov is dead now, and I can tell you that a nano-second after he died, He believed in God, but sadly it was too late to do him any good.
The reason he did not find any evidence that God existed is because he willingly chose to ignore it. The evidence is abundant, plain, and clear, that there is an Almighty God who is the Creator of all things. It is so abundant that the Apostle Paul says in Romans 1:20; "For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse,"
No one will be able to stand before God and say "I didnít know you existed." The only way to come to that conclusion is through willful ignorance. The whole Creation, visible and invisible, cries out that there was and is a Creator.
Based on the statement by Isaac Asimov, and other similar statements by evolutionists, we can conclude that the Theory of Evolution is a religion. It is accepted by faith, not by facts.
There is nothing wrong in having faith if you have it in the right thing or person. As Christians we have faith in The Lord Jesus Christ, but it is a faith well founded. It is not refuted by the facts as evolution is. All that the Bible has said about Creation is validated by true science.
I close with this quote from Dr. Henry Morrisí book, (Evolution and the Modern Christian" page 2 of the preface,) which states; "That the theory of evolution which is so utterly devoid of any legitimate scientific proof could have attained such universal power and prestige in the name of science is surely a remarkable commentary on human natureÖÖ..". He goes on to say; "It is evidence of manís capacity to deceive himself. The simple fact is that evolutionary theory is both totally false, and almost totally successful."
